To bring forth the spiritual power and grace of the women of the South Pacific embracing the past and present, uniting all cultures outside of Polynesia with Polynesia, paving a new light and learning for our future generations

Pasifika Sway is a Sydney-based Polynesian dance theatre company offering Polynesian contemporary dance shows, dance classes for women and children and providing an interactive Polynesian musical for children called Tamasese

DANCE SHOWS

We are an all-female Polynesian contemporary dance troupe. There is 5 of us from different South Pacific cultures Aotearoa, Samoa, Tonga and Tahiti. 

Women are the backbone of every society.  We are the child-bearers, the nurturers, the lovers, the carers of every society.  Plus, being the women of the South Pacific, we are strong, gracefully powerful and we never forget our ancestors and are thankful of our spiritual guardians.

We perform not only traditional dances but also contemporary fusing other ethnic styles eg. African, samba, flamenco and belly dancing with all the styles of the South Pacific including, Aotearoa (New Zealand), Samoa, Tonga, Cook Island, Hawaii and Tahiti.

We first danced together in 2003 and our first performances, Opening of St George Women’s Migrant Centre, Groove Lounge, and Nesian Mystiks concert has been widely received by all and has made a huge successful impact.
